Once you've arrived in Palompon, you can either walk or ride a tricycle from the V-hire terminal to the Palompon Eco-Tourism Office. The office also serves as the terminal where boats to and from Kalanggaman Island dock.

Palompon Eco-Tourism Office

If you haven't reserved or booked a boat yet, you can book at the Eco-tourism Office. If you're in a small group of travellers, you can share with another group so you don't have to pay for the whole boat. You may have to wait for a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the season, the boat available and the number of people in a group because the total number of passengers should be within the capacity of the boat.  So it's always better to reserve first.

These are the boats that travel to and from the island.

Travel time from the port to the island is roughly around an hour.

They are continuously developing the island to accommodate more tourists. Here are the amenities they just added this year:  (Photos from kalanggaman-island.com)

What to do on the island:
This is the guide on where specific activities can be done

  • 1. Kayaking - This is definitely the first water activity that they offered. Now they got more units to accommodate the increasing tourists on the island.

  • 2. Paddle Board - This activity is perfect if you want a serene water activity. You just need to learn how to balance.

  • 3.Jet ski - This is something new not just in the island but also in Leyte. Not a lot of islands and beach resorts offers jet ski.

  • 4. Banana Boat - This is very popular when it comes to water sports. And I'm glad they added this to their amenities.

  • 5. Snorkeling - What better way to enjoy the crystal clear water than to take in the view underwter.

    6. Swimming- Who can say no to this clear waters? Anyone would want to take a dip and get some splashes.

  • 7. Scuba Diving - If you got the right gear, why not? But unlike other popular islands like Boracay, They don't offer training classes, so you should already have to know how.

  • 8. Beach Volleyball - This is definitely something to try if you are traveling as a group.
