Lanterns to Lampshade

I seem to be into lanterns, used bottles and jars nowadays, so just expect more projects with these materials. I can't seem to stop creating these DIYs. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a lampshade using any old tree trunk with branches and Chinese Lanterns. You're going to need an old tree trunk with several branches. I prefer one with a lot of imperfections and deformities coz I think it looks more artistic. SO look for a trunk with holes on its branches.

Thoroughly clean the trunk with water making sure that there are no soil remnants and insect activities present. Don't be afraid to rub it with a big brush to get the work done.  Once you're sure that its already clean, let it dry under the sun for a few days to get rid of the moisture. Now , you're ready for the next step. Get a sand paper and rub it on rough surfaces make it smooth. Rub it like your desperate for a genie to burst out of an old lamp. Once done, apply an even coat of varnish or lacquer; antique wax can also be used, though it can be a bit expensive. I personally prepare dark colors but you can use a lighter shade of brown or if the wood looks good already, just apply a clear gloss.
You can then use a a 3-bulb parallel circuit  for the lights. Attach the bulbs  near the ends of the branches and put a Chinese Lantern over it.

Hope you enjoy this project and watch out for more of these.
