I used to be an impulsive buyer when it comes to black apparels. You can always see that twinkle in my eyes when I see one. It seems that whatever the design is, as long as it is black, it'll never fail to impress me. Funny thing is, every time I see a design I like, I always look for its black counterpart even if the color displayed is stunning. It's like I knew that the black version will always be better or else, perfect. Though I love anything pink, I actually choose black over pink when it comes to clothes. Maybe not all the time but definitely most times. I love how black always makes me look more trendy even without accessories. It always takes my outfit to the next level. Plus, I don't have to worry about picking a piece that I can pair it with, because black goes well with any color.
If you own a denim jacket, then you'll definitely love the denim polo more after you read this post. And if you don't have this multi-purpose polo yet, I know you'll end up planning on getting one...soon.
What do you think would you be doing on a blackout in a place where there is no cellular network connection? Does a place like that even exist? Hmm..
I am currently taking my long awaited staycation in my hometown. Staying in the city can be tiring at times; for me at least. Some of you might really love the city and I do too. I just need a little bit of that calm provincial breeze from time to time.
It's gonna be the li'l dude's birthday in a week and we haven't decided on what to do yet. We were torn between having a party at home or spending it on the beach or a pool. After a few days of deciding, we thought that, for for a sixteen-year-old, the house party might be boring especially because we are situated in an area that's not very accessible to some of his friends.
So we ended up deciding to spend it either on a pool or at the beach. Now, the only question is where? It should be a safe and secure resort coz you know how teenagers can be. And as much as possible, we're looking for a place that is not so crowded. We have thought of a lot of places and we decided to check it out ahead of time so we could also book early.

Summer is just around the corner. Yay!!! But not everyone is happy about it, unfortunately. It may come as a surprise to you and you might be like, ' What? Who on earth hates the vacation season?' But you never know. Wait 'til you live in a country experiencing El Niño, where the scorching heat can squeeze the water out of you 'til your shirt is drenched in sweat. And it sure as hell can dry up any moisture from any surface it touches. Going out and feeling the extreme heat at 31°C is enough to make many Filipinos wish for winter in this equatorial territory. Can you believe people are wishing for summer to end before it has even started? Well, not me.
Sunny days. Ooh, it feels like I'm gonna take a dip in crystal-clear blue waters anytime soon. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? I still have to wait for a few more weeks before summer vacation (too bad). Some might say that it's not really summer yet but I (strongly) beg to disagree.
Have you been outside and felt that scorching heat? Have you seen the social media feeds filled with tour and vacation package advertisements? Because I have, and judging from that, I say summer is in the air. Those bright mornings and lazy afternoons fill me with an energized aura that makes me wish for it not to end. But we can only enjoy it while we can, coz it might be just a short break from days of gloomy weather and cold rain. You know how quick a weather can change in the Philippines, it might be the smiling Mr. Sun up there now, but it can be drizzling the next - or worse, another storm.
I have been fascinated with the nostalgic sense of prim vintage pieces for the longest time. Not just with the refined and reserved-type dresses, but I’m also drawn to those elegant and tasteful stoned pieces of jewelry which are archetypal to the dramatically bulky modern accessories. That has been the reason why, from having stunningly bright and colored outfit collections way back, I slowly shifted to acquiring vintage clothes. I even raided my mom’s chest of drawers where she kept her old clothes. And by saying old, I really mean old in the clothes’ life-span sense of the word. Those are stuff that she had when I wasn’t even around yet. So, those are 28-year-old clothes! Fortunately, my mom is also a fashion aficionado. She usually gives away her old clothes but since we live in a province and not most care about fashion, no one really picked her nice clothes when it’s being given away. Having it locked in a depository and digging in for the first time is like being a 5-year old opening her first gigantic birthday present.
Hi, lovelies! Hope you had an awesome start on your week. Mine was a bit busy, so I'll just loosen up a bit and share this fantastic way to decorate your space. If you feel like your house is a bit flat and boring, well you're not the only one, I do too. That's why I always find cost-effective ways to spice up the room. And today I'm going to share with you a DIY that can cozy up your area.
It's a lovely day, isn't it? Mr. Sun seems happy and I hope you're all feeling fabulous on this sunny day. So how 'bout checking out some creative centerpieces?
It was a few days before my sister's birthday and I was cleaning the house and the grounds when I noticed that we got quite a few old books, jars, bottles and logs. And I was like, " now where am I gonna hide these?" But then I thought, why hide it if I can use it as centerpieces. So I started combining these materials in an arrangement and check these out!
I seem to be into lanterns, used bottles and jars nowadays, so just expect more projects with these materials. I can't seem to stop creating these DIYs. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a lampshade using any old tree trunk with branches and Chinese Lanterns. You're going to need an old tree trunk with several branches. I prefer one with a lot of imperfections and deformities coz I think it looks more artistic. SO look for a trunk with holes on its branches.
Hi, there loves!… I'm not having much going on today so here's another project that can keep you busy on days as boring as mine. This is not really a DIY since the materials are readily bought but I still wanna share this design with you guys. Hope you like it!I used 5 Chinese Lanterns of different sizes and shades of orange. You can use different colors depending on your goal look. If you want something fresh and light, you can use pastel colors. Me, I'm going for the warm and cozy feel.
Do you wish to have a cute room but don't want to spend a lot? Don't fret because you actually can.
I am the kind of person who loves designing anything but don't wanna spend a lot on it. So I always end up doing all the work and using any materials that I already have or those that I can buy at an affordable price.
Having a tiny room is definitely not a problem.
I have shared how my room at our permanent residence looked like. I think that was my very first post here. Since I started college, I'm spending most of my time in a room I'm renting in the city. Ironically, it's bigger than my room in the province, so a girl can't complain. And that's the reason why I ultimately love this place.
I have been living in this room for nine years now and through the years, I have made several revisions with the interior design. And I'm going to share one of my most favorite decoration today. When I'm decorating my room, I mostly do everything myself, so I seldom use finished products as decors. I use meters of different types of cloth taking into consideration the color, texture, width and of course the price. I don't usually use very expensive textile materials, instead, I look for alternatives that can be very close in style and quality to the expensive ones but at a more affordable price.
On this decoration, I used a combination of pink, black and green Alpha Geena and Tulle cloth. As usual, I used thumbtacks and pins as binding materials. I also used chinese lanterns and twigs to make the room.more appealing. This decoration was from years ago when I still had a roomate so if you notice on the pictures, there are 2 beds on either side of the room. One is near the cabinets and the other is near the windows. I really liked this decoration because it's not like your typical dorm room. You can also see my awesome roommate on some of the photos. She was still in college at this time and this is what we do when we're bored; enhance our vanity. Lol
Since we dont have lots of chairs for our friends when they come over, we made a small platform where they can sit and enjoy reading sone magazines.
This decoration didn't last long, as usual. I changed it again the next time I was bored and I'm gonna be posting that design too.
I was buying raw materials for another room make-over that I was planning when luckily I stumbled on a superb idea. I was planning on buying more black and white twigs to fill the jar that my roommate made and designed for her school project. Also on my list are a couple of dried vine parts; I'm not really sure what these vines are called but remember the movie, Tarzan? Do you still remember the big vines that Tarzan grabs onto so he can swing to another area? That's the vine that I'm talking about, only it's already dead and dried. So it's no longer pliable but instead, it's hard, sturdy and it has this unique spiral shape which I think can be very classy and modern when used for interior design. So I went to a floral shop that sells these items at a very low price. While I was waiting for the items to be ready, the owner initiated a small chit-chat and asked me what I'm gonna do with the items. So I explained my plan briefly and it so happened that he has a catering business and most of their clients are well-off families and big companies. He then showed me some of their works and it was heavenly. Quite expensive, I must say, but definitely worth every penny. They have really unique designs that can capture anyone's attention.
Hi beauts!! I'm Jefelene.
Welcome to The Diary of a Creative Chique.
This blog is all about everything I love and most of the things you love.
Why did I start this blog? Well, originally because of my crazy mind babbles. I often have these amazing ideas that I just wanna create, put into writing and share to awesome people like you. I just thought that it's still more fun to share ideas with people who share the same interest as me and at the same time, I gain more ideas from other people too.
I like chic pieces when it's a faddishly popular trend? I'm a very girly type of person that my friends think I'm too gay. And I must admit, I think I am. In everything I have, I'm always inclined to incorporate a little bit of flair to it. But I'll let you in on a secret, sometimes I do go overboard. But don't get me wrong, I was never the barbie-like primadonna we often see on movies. I'm still a typical young adult who knows what she wants. And what I want is to transform something awfully plain into one that artistically aesthetic.
All of us has ous sweet spot. Something that makes you respond in a positive way day or night. And mine is Fashion. It's one thing I'm very fond of. It is never boring because it allows me to explore and experiment. Moreover, I can incorporate it in my daily life. In fact, it makes me feel anything but flat and uninteresting.
I love Pink. My room is Pink, my phone is Pink, heck, my notebook is even Pink. If its not Pink, I vigorously find ways to turn it Pink. I hope you don't think I'm crazy. I realize that Pink is more like a teenagers choice and I'm 7 years past my teen years but who cares? Theres no rulebook anywhere that says favorite colors have age limits, right? Even age doesn't matter in love, how much more in colors. I honestly don't think I can ever outgrow my obsession with this color.
I have mentioned that I love girly and crafty things. Though I don't prefer boring peices, it doesn't instinctively make me feel down, instead it makes my mind go into overdrive. the incessant surge of ideas on how to make it awesome gets me pumped. That's why I'm always drawn to Do It Yourself projects and crafty designing.
